It’s been a busy week in the G5 press room. Yesterday, we announced our No. 51 ranking on the Deloitte’s 2010 Technology Fast 500. Earlier in the week we announced our selection as one of the Healthiest Employers in Oregon by the Portland Business Journal. These are two very different awards that, on the surface, have nothing to do with each other. (Or do they?)
What Makes Us Fast?
We’re often asked, “What do you attribute to your success in this bad economy?”
Our answer is simple: “What we do works.”
We do more than just drive leads and customers to our clients’ properties. Our Local Marketing Software Platform delivers measureable results, providing our clients with data that allows them to make better business decisions and improve business performance. One could argue that a bad economy is a boon for a company that gives clients a clear picture of which marketing efforts are working and which ones aren’t.
What Makes Us Healthy?
G5 is one of the Healthiest Companies in Oregon because we have corporate sports teams, on-site flu shots, health incentives, discounted gym memberships, on-site yoga classes, and a generous employer-paid health plan, among other things. But our health and wellness program is just one extension of G5’s razor-sharp focus on the wellbeing and happiness of its employees.
Beyond the Simple Answer
The more complicated answer isn’t something you see in a pie chart. It’s something you feel when you walk through the doors of Suite 200 in the five story building at the corner of Franklin and Bond Street in downtown Bend.
I’m going to take off my corporate hat for a minute and speak personally. I’ve been uncommonly fortunate in my career. I’ve never had a job I didn’t like. My standards for “a great place to work” were pretty high, because I’ve worked in such great places.
Still, G5 is different. I felt it when I walked through the door for my first interview. There are no cubicles. The CEO’s “office” has no doors. There’s a tangible excitement coming from every desk – a feeling of collaboration, teamwork, and purpose clearly visible in the personal interactions, warm smiles, and genuine laughter echoing from the open floor plan.
Once I started here, I found the positive work culture positively overwhelming. Goals and objectives are aligned and clearly communicated across the company. Personal and team achievements are publicly celebrated. A work/life balance is encouraged. Core values like “Got your back,” “Change the world,” “Dare to Dominate,” “Work Hard, Play Hard, Live Life” and “Big on ideas – not just big ideas” aren’t just written on the walls. They are exercised on a daily basis.
Healthy Organisms Always Grow
The high energy and inspiration that permeate G5 naturally yields creativity, hard work, dedication and results:
• A client retention rate of 96%
• Revenue growth of 2,566% over a five-year period
• Up to 14% increase in occupancy for our clients
• Up to 300% increase in monthly leads for our clients
This week’s award announcements were purely a coincidence, but also anecdotal. Healthy organisms are bound to grow. And G5 is healthy – and growing.
Let me guess. Now you want to work here, don’t you? Go ahead and check out our current job openings.
